My wife went to our local Vons for some essentials. This wine was on sale for 50% off!! She surprised me with a couple bottles. I instantly put one in the fridge for tonight's enjoyment.

An absolutely beautiful yellow beacon that glistens in any kind of light. Just pure class on the nose. Perfume, wild flowers in a field, ocean air and the smell of salty water spraying off rocks (I go to La Jolla all the time), some sweet baking spices as nose exits the glass. Savory herbs, wet stones, salinity with a lemon curd and green apple in mid-palate. Lemon lime and sneaky notes of caramel popcorn as wine slides down on finish. Wow, great acid to weight ratio going on here.

Jim Clendenen is a true legend...maybe one day I'll meet him. If I do, I will tell him the wines he make are true industry standard and are transcending. How is this wine priced so well? If you see this wine on a wine list...by the glass or bottle...GET IT! I've seen it at multiple restaurants by the glass.

Cheers
