Friday Night Flight (Tercero, Rusack, Margerum)

Wife and I entertained some friends tonight so opened up a couple bottles. They are from Santa Barbara so seemed only appropriate enough. Notes were posted throughout the night on Facebook and CellarTracker

08 Tercero Grenache Blanc
Light yellow, green, grey. Petrol is coming out. Nice pear, some wild flowers. Great acid with a touch of mineral. In a nice place.

06 Rusack Solomon Hills Pinot
Solid purple. Spice, ripe strawberries, some mushroom. Some acid, but solid medium body with a bing cherry, pie thing. Good.

06 Margerum Alisos Vineyard Syrah
Purple...smoked meat, anise, with some underlying ripe, dark fruit. Some herbs. Getting acid and mineral in the attack and mid-palate. Puzzler. Acid is mellowing a bit, establishing some more structure.

Some good wines to get ready for the trip up this weekend!!
