2009 Jaffurs Viognier

Enjoyed tasting the 2009 Jaffurs Viognier at the Celebration of Harvest last month and also had a glass of the 2008 with dinner at Bouchon. Recently purchased the '09 from retail and this was first time from bottle. Popped and poured and enjoyed over three nights. Medium gold color. Wonderful nose of florals and tropical fruit. On the palate, apricot, peach and lemon with a slight honeyed sweetness. Medium bodied, nice acidity and a medium-long finish. Really enjoyed this and a great QPR. Would definitely purchase again. Good stuff.

From winery spec sheet:
Santa Barbara County
Vineyards: 77% Bien Nacido, 23% Refugio
Whole Cluster pressed
Neutral French barrels, all barrels finished malo
Lightly filtered, fined
14.5% alc, 762 cases

Steve, met Mike Meyer at Jaffurs on Sunday with my fam. The vio is rockin'. I absolutely love this bottle...this vintage is excellent. I think your notes are spot on. Great job my friend.
