2009 Dragonette Cellars Rosé, Santa Ynez Valley

So who opens Rosé in February? A warm winter week (upper 70's) in San Diego so thought it was a good time to pop a bottle that has been in the wine fridge a while.

Popped and poured at cellar temp. Beautiful clear red color which highlighted the fruit to come. Slight bit of CO2 on initial pour which blew off fairly quickly in the glass. Nice nose of strawberry with some citrus. On the palate, nicely dry compared to many, with strawberry, raspberry and some orange/citrus. Went well with some light cheese/crackers. Nice value at about $20.

Bottle notes indicate this is a mix of free-run juice and saignee. 65% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre. Only 50 cases produced.

Drank the last of that vintage a while ago...great stuff. Glad you liked it!!
