Holiday Inn - Santa Maria

Didn't plan on booking the Holiday Inn, but we were late in booking a room for our visit to the SBCVA Celebration of Harvest. Santa Barbara rooms were their typical high weekend rates, coupled with a government holiday weekend (Columbus Day), so we opted for Santa Maria for Saturday night, which was much closer to the venue. Originally thought of booking the Santa Maria Inn, but when I came back to book it was full. Ended up choosing the Holiday Inn because of the rate ($96) and because the bus running to/from the event from Santa Maria was leaving from there.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the room. It had been renovated in the past year or so and was large and clean. Not sure why, but we were upgraded to Deluxe room, which had a full kitchen including a two burner stove. Very nice and very comfortable.

Would definitely recommend the hotel and the Deluxe Room (normally $105) if you do not need the ambiance and price of Santa Barbara.

Excellent! We stayed on that part of town the first time we went up. Been staying at Solvang lately...but good to know about this place!
