Santa Barbara Wine Offline

Postby NickWittman » Tue Sep 20, 2011 9:53 pm

How about we kick off the Santa Barbara Wine Talk board with its first offline in Santa Barbara? Propose two bottles a person or couple, one SQN, and one great drinking Santa Barbara wine? I could fly down late Oct or early Nov if that works and suggest 8 to 10 folks total. Exploring interest, if this sounds like something you would be interested in attending, let me know and we'll make it happen? As host, would gladly throw in a SQN Red and White . . . ;)

Nick,

Sounds interesting and will be date dependent for me. Misuk and I are planning a trip up to SB from San Diego the weekend of Oct 7th, well before your window. Planning on hitting the Celebration of Harvest event on Saturday the 8th (See Events page). My schedule is more flexible than hers, so may be able to come solo to a late Oct/early Nov event, although I may have to get some tips from Phil on how to get one of those "hall pass" things. Would also have to source a bottle of SQN, as I'm not on the list and probably won't be during my lifetime. Shouldn't be an issue to track one down though. Will stand by for feedback from you and others on potential dates and see what happens!

Cheers,

Steve

This sounds AMAZING!! I'll have to get back to you on dates though...we're going in November for the wifey's b-day. I'll have to see if we can possibly do it that weekend. If not, I might be able to fly up solo for the weekend!

I know a bunch of folks with SQN...I'm sure I can buy/trade/organize CellarTracker for one. ;)

Sounds great guys, let me know what you think date wise? Would some time between Oct 26th to the 30th work? Think that timeframe is open for Ron and Mishel. Would be so nice to see Misuk again Steve and hope she could join us? Phil, would likewise be nice to meet your wife.

Nick,

Sorry for the silence...still looking at the dates. We're definitely locked in for a trip to SB County on the weekend of the 7th, but looking to see if I/we can swing a second trip the weekend of the 28th. If so, it would probably have to be Saturday the 29th for us. Will see what we can do and what others come back with.

Cheers,

Steve

our schedules are firming up for Oct/Nov and it does not look like we can be in SB during this time.

however, i am trying to be in sonoma environs first weekend in november (5th and 6th)..

a big Offline in Los Olivos sounds great, though. maybe spring 2012 before it gets too hot!
